All Ballet Friday is here! Looking ahead....Two Weeks from today, we will have already spent a few very important days in The Stevie Eller Dance Theatre, and we will be getting ready for our All Important Dress Rehearsal of "The International Language of Dance 2012," which will commence at exactly 6pm, on Friday June 1st)
In the meantime, we must make very good use of the few days remaining at ABT. Please attend all your classes and rehearsals, and make sure to be 100% focussed when you are in The Studio. Now is the time to ask any remaining questions. Talk to the other dancers. Make sure you are on the same wavelength regarding the choreography of the pieces you are appearing in. Ask your teachers if you are unsure of anything.
Make sure you are accumulating the items your will need for the performances, such as Hair Accessories; tights, leotards, jazz pants, and foot wear:) A dancer is always prepared for surprises!
Be prepared. Be focussed. Listen to your body. Get plenty of sleep.
Thursday's Dance Action will begin promptly at 4:30 in Both Studios this afternoon:)
We will follow our normal Studio Schedule as we get closer and closer to moving all our dance activities to The Stevie Eller Dance Theatre. Two weeks from today, we will all be in the Theatre for our All-Important Technical Rehearsal. FYI - there is a hand-out at the Studio that gives the times for our Week in the Theatre, heretofore known as Theatre Week 2012.
Also, I want to give a heads-up regarding ticket sales; we are very near to being Sold-Out for both shows. I know that many of you still need to pick up your tickets. Do not hesitate. Or, they will all be gone, baby, gone.
It is with a heavy heart that I must share some extremely sad news- Jon Owens, Dance Dad Extraordinaire - beloved husband of Dr Joy Peskin and devoted father to our dancing , Hannah, and her two older siblings, Eli and Ariella, died suddenly on Monday, May 14th. His funeral will be held at 1PM, this afternoon at Evergreen. Rabbi Eisen will be officiating. No words can express the sorrow in our hearts. Jon was a very involved Dance Dad, and he will be and is indeed sorely missed.
