Good Morning Dancers, Dreamers, and Travelers,

Thanks everyone! Yesterday was a Ballet Blast.

This afternoon, our adored Miss Megan will hold court at Arizona Ballet Theatre with her equally adorable Tiny Dancers beginning at 4:30. I will be teaching from 6:30 to 8PM - Adult Teen Ballet Technique.

I thought we bumped up our turning significantly in Learn-To-Turn. It is amazing what can be done in one focussed hour.

As far as Expanding The ABT Petite Allegro Vocabulary is concerned - we are moving, rapidly, which is oh so very apropos. Various skills are needed to implement the Ballet Petite Allegro Vocabulary. Just as a turn may be broken down into component parts - Preparation - Actual Turn & Landing, the same can be applied to jumps. How do you begin? Hint - Demi plie is your very best friend:) What Is Happening While Airborn? (Hint - There is much variety, but you know that you must pointe your feet, either stretch or bend your knees, and when you land....which you will...you must roll though either one foot or two feet aiming for a neat, meticulously placed Ballet Position.

Then, it is on to the next element in the combination.

Jumping is challenging and endorphin-producing. It can be huge and space consuming as in Grand Allegro; or it can be sparkly, bouncy, and knife-sharp as in Petite Allegro.

We have a lot to work on which makes the whole Ballet process so much fun.

I am so happy to share my lifelong exposure to the world's best dancers with you.

So you think you can dance? Wonderful. When in Tucson, come dance with us at Arizona Ballet Theatre. It is a very good thing.
